History & Interesting Tidbits

Home & Living → Kitchen & Dining → Dinnerware → Bowls → Dessert / Berry Bowls

mic pieces were produced in what was formerly Czechoslovakia, a region world-renowned for fine porcelain and glass production dating back to the 18th century. During the mid-20th century (especially the

1950s–1970s), delicate floral porcelain became highly popular for export to Western markets.

The “Theresa” pattern reflects classic European styling: soft hand-painted style florals, restrained color palettes, and gently fluted rims. Czechoslovakian porcelain from this era is prized for its quality kaolin clay, luminous glaze, and durability combined with elegance.

After the peaceful division of Czechoslovakia in 1993, earlier backstamps reading “Made in Czechoslovakia” became collectible markers of pre-split European production.
