This pair of retro hand-turned Oregon Myrtlewood bowls showcases the warm grain, golden-brown coloration, and smooth satin finish that make Myrtlewood a beloved Pacific Northwest hardwood. Each bowl was individually crafted by State Line Myrtlewood in Brookings, Oregon, a studio known for its mid-century giftware and sculptural home pieces. The grain variation, organic shaping, and slight asymmetry reflect true artisan woodturning from the era. These bowls make wonderful accent pieces for cozy cabin styling, Golden Harvest fall décor, or natural woodland vignettes, and they display beautifully stacked, filled with dried botanicals, or styled empty to highlight the wood’s rich depth.

Myrtlewood (Umbellularia californica) grows only in a narrow band along the Oregon and Northern California coast, making it one of the rarest commercial hardwoods in North America. During the 1950s–1970s, Myrtlewood gift shops and turning studios flourished, creating bowls, trays, and sculptural home décor sold as souvenirs to travelers along the Pacific Highway. State Line Myrtlewood was among the most recognized, producing hand-finished bowls with distinctive gold foil labels like the ones on this pair. Because each piece is uniquely shaped and finished, vintage Myrtlewood has become a collected category for lovers of mid-century natural décor.
