📚 Historical Background
The phrase “Quote the Raven ‘Nevermore’” originates from Edgar Allan Poe’s 1845 poem The Raven, one of the most iconic works in Gothic literature. Its imagery has inspired countless artists and designers — from Victorian mourning decor to 20th-century Halloween motifs. By the 1990s–2000s, literary and pop-culture collectibles featuring Poe’s imagery enjoyed a resurgence, aligning with the vintage gothic revival aesthetic seen in décor, films, and literature of the era. This shaker set celebrates that blend of literary charm and dark romanticism — a witty, functional nod to classic American Gothic.
