Vintage Mid-Century Italian Empoli Cobalt Blue Glass Genie Pitcher with Applied Bullseye, c. 1960s–1970s

This rare Empoli art glass pitcher in brilliant cobalt blue is a striking example of mid-century Italian craftsmanship. Standing approximately 15” tall and weighing 2 lbs 5 oz, it features a tall neck with flared spout, an elegant applied handle, and a wide rounded base. Most notably, it includes an integrated hollow ice pocket chamber—a mid-century innovation designed to keep drinks chilled without watering them down.

Hand-blown in the glassmaking region of Empoli, Tuscany, during the 1960s–1970s, these ice pocket pitchers were produced in limited numbers and are harder to find today than the more common genie bottles or bullseye jugs. The deep, saturated cobalt blue glass makes this piece a dramatic statement for both collectors and entertainers.
