Dithridge & Co.
A beautiful piece of late-Victorian American glass, this Dithridge & Co. No. 71 milk glass vanity dish dates to approximately 1899–1901.
Made in opaque white milk glass, the dish has an unusual softly triangular, three-lobed shape with graceful molded scroll and floral detailing around the rim. The underside is marked with a molded “71,” corresponding with Dithridge & Co.’s documented No. 71 pattern.
Pieces like this were part of the decorative dresser and vanity sets popular at the end of the 19th century, used for small personal items such as pins, jewelry, hair accessories and other dressing-table necessities.
Today it makes a lovely trinket dish, jewelry dish, ring holder, vanity accent or collectible piece of antique milk glass.
I especially love the contrast between its substantial molded form and the delicate Victorian ornamentation — quietly elegant, but still full of character.

Dithridge & Co. was an important American glassmaker of the late 19th century and ceased operations in 1901, making surviving dresser and vanity pieces true antiques rather than later vintage reproductions.
Antique condition with age-related wear consistent with a piece more than 125 years old. The milk glass remains glossy and displays beautifully. There is some light discoloration/staining and minor surface wear visible, particularly near portions of the rim.
