Vintage Royal China Colonial Homestead Green Saucer Plate | 1950s Wooden Bucket Churn | 6” USA

A wonderfully nostalgic piece of mid-century Americana.

This vintage Royal China Colonial Homestead salad plate features a rustic wooden bucket or churn framed by an olive-green faux wood-plank border, complete with illustrated grain, knots and nail details. The monochromatic transfer design gives the plate the appearance of an old engraved illustration and beautifully captures the Colonial Revival aesthetic that became so popular in American homes during the mid-20th century.

Produced in the United States by Royal China, the Colonial Homestead Green pattern was introduced around 1950 and included an assortment of early-American scenes and household objects. The backstamp reads “Colonial Homestead by Royal” with the “circa 1750” designation referring to the historical era represented by the pattern. Royal’s Colonial Homestead Green line is now discontinued.

At approximately 6” inches in diameter, this is the salad plate from the series.

It would be especially lovely mixed into a collected green-and-white tablescape, displayed upright on a shelf or plate stand, incorporated into cottage or farmhouse décor, or added to an existing Colonial Homestead collection. Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear.

The plate retains strong olive-green coloration and a crisp, highly detailed transfer design. There are visible surface scratches, utensil/scuff marks and light wear to the glaze, particularly across portions of the green border, consistent with previous use and age.
